National Federation of the Blind
The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) is a US organization founded in 1940 to improve opportunities for blind people. Dedicated to equality, independence, and empowerment, the NFB works to eliminate barriers in technology, transportation, and education. Offering diverse programs like job training and education, the NFB empowers blind individuals to live independently, challenging the misconception that blindness is a barrier to success.
Led by blind individuals, the NFB has chapters in every US state, international affiliates, and hosts the world's largest gathering of blind people annually. Through advocacy and comprehensive programs, the NFB champions equal opportunities, breaks down societal barriers, and transforms perceptions about living with blindness.
